LL.M. in Business Contracts

Law firms and international companies are looking for young bilingual lawyers who have a good understanding of legal and management issues and who are practice ready. Students wish to learn to highlight their skills and obtain professional contacts that will give them a HEAD’s start in their legal career.  


The study program at HEAD combines both theoretical and practical classes. This enables the students to learn directly from practitioners who are in contact with the professional world. The students will experience a very enrichement education.

You will follow an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes advanced courses in law, as well as in business, finance and management, designed to provide you with an understanding of the global business environment.

Develop your Skills Through a Practical Program

HEAD Law School provides a practical approach to its students to actually prepare them to work either in law firms or in international companies.

  • Students, through collaborative workshops and team projects, are challenged to grow their practical lawyering skills to the next level.
  • Professional and personal approachis at the very core of the programme ensuring you have the communication and social skills for Legal Drafting, Civil Procedure and Litigation Strategy, and Oral Presentation Skills.

  • Courses are co-taught by leading professors from the French universities and international legal practitioners so that you can acquire skills that are  not taught  in other  law schools and be  fully prepared to work in large international firms and companies.
  • personal mentor, chosen among partner lawyers and in-house counsel, is attributed to each student in accordance with his or her professional ambitions. During monthly meetings, mentors  provide  insightful advice and help students define their career plan and especially their choice of  internship.
  • Conferences, organised twice a month, are essential extensions of class teaching, and play a critical role for student vocational guidance. Delivered by high-level legal professionals, they are an important networking opportunity for students.

The program “à la carte”
 Each student is free to choose, subject to the approval of his academic advisor and provided that the choice is in keeping with her professional objectives, approximately 500 hours of courses for a total of at least 60 ECTS credits.

Distribution of courses
 The program is structured around two axes :

  • a curriculum unique to the LLM in Business Contracts (40%)
  • a core curriculum common to the various LLM offered at HEAD (60%): this core curriculum consists of courses in a variety of subject matters thus ensuring a multidisciplinary education, and practical training for each student.

 Classes are taught by a highly credentialed faculty, including university professors and practitioners who develop together courses unique to HEAD.  Educational innovation and a high level of interaction among teachers and students are key to this LLM.
