Conference: “Does AI further justice?"

The Law Clinics of HEAD and Aix-en-Provence are pleased to welcome you to the conference: “Is AI furthering justice?”

In the era of Big Data and Machine Learning, the emergence of advanced automation and AI impacts the legal
and judicial fields. Indeed, some analytical and predictive tools make it possible to assess and quantify legal risks.

The French legal start-up Predictice is a great example of this new reality. Its analytical and research tools, which
are based on an algorithm, indicate the appropriate legal strategy for a given set of circumstances.

These technologies raise new legal and ethical issues that will be discussed during the conference such as:

  • What is predictive justice and what are the needs it addresses?
  • How does it impact the legal profession?
  • How can it benefit legal professionals and their clients?
  • Should we fear predictive technology or use it as a tool?

Matthieu Brochier, Partner at Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier and coordinator of HEAD’s Law Clinic, will
moderate this conference and receive:
