Team and Governance

HEAD was created as a Simplified Joint Stock Company with a capital of more than 3 million Euros from individuals who were interested in this project to create a prestigious law school. Whether it concerns research, student programs or Executive Education, HEAD’s governance involves all the active members of the school (shareholders, professors and people from the business world) in the decision making for the Group’s strategy and development. 


The Executive Committee is the main structure which makes strategic decisions and validates management decisions.

Lawyer at the Paris Bar since 1988, Jean-Philippe Lambert is CEO of the Law firm Mayer Brown in France, and a member of the Worldwide Partnership Board. He has extensive expertise in banking, finance, restructuring and real estate.

Laurent Aynès became Professor “agrégé” in 1982, and joined Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University in 1990 after 4 years at Paris X. In 2010, he was actively involved in the creation of the Sorbonne Law School and was president of the private law section and the commission for specialists of private law. Laurent Aynès has participated in numerous scientific commissions or committees such as the Darrois Commission. He has published several books which have become references in the academic world. He recently joined the Law firm Darrois Villey as one of his partners.


After 30 years in private practice with two major international law firms, Christopher Baker is now an independent consultant and sits as a non-executive director on the board of a number of privately held companies.  He started practicing as a tax lawyer in New York in 1983, moved to Paris in 1986 and in 1990 he founded the Paris office of Skadden Arps which he then managed and co-managed until 2013.  He advised on acquisitions, joint ventures and restructuring matters, as well as on corporate governance and crisis management.  


Lawyer at the Paris Bar, Laurent Borey is in charge of the team of tax advisors at Mayer Brown Paris, but also the tax department for Mayer Brown worldwide. He continually counsels European and American companies in the national and international operations. He is also involved in the structuring of investment funds and real estate transactions.


Lawyer at the Paris Bar since 1979, former “Secrétaire de la Conférence du Stage”, Emmanuel Brochier is a founding partner of the Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier law firm. He is specialised in the fields of mergers and acquisitions and litigation and arbitration. 


A Swiss national, born in 1946, Hans-Peter Frick is a Doctor of law, with an LL.M.from the University of Zurich. After being Hewlett-Packard legal advisor for the EMEA zone, he joined the Nestlé group in 1990 and was its legal manager for almost 20 years. Today he is on the executive committees of several companies and is a member of the consulting committee for Lex Mundi and the Board of managers of the CPR, International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution, New York.


Lawyer at the Paris Bar and partner at Mayer Brown, Xavier Jaspar is a fund consultant for major deals of Private Equity. He also has considerable experience in the field of mergers and acquisitions for listed and unlisted companies.


Gilles Mougenot graduated from the Institut de Droit Comparé (Institute for comparative law) with a DESS in business law and began his career as a legal advisor. He is well known in the French market for capital investment. Since Gilles Mougenot founded Argos Soditic, a private equity fund, in 1989, he has been involved in more than twenty acquisitions of companies. In 2003, he was named Chairman of the AFIC (Association Française des Investisseurs en Capital) for 2003/2004. 



Composed of members chosen by the Executive committee and members representing the professors, the committee validates the school’s syllabus and ensures the quality of schools exams.
