HEAD partners are leading companies, law firms and non-profit making organizations; on a daily basis, they play an active role in teaching and student coaching.
HEAD aims to develop a sound network of committed in-house legal counsels and lawyers who are dedicated to supporting our students' entry into the legal profession.
A significant number of partnership agreements have been signed between HEAD and well-known law firms such as Darrois, Villey, Maillot, Brochier and Mayer Brown and with leading global companies such as Orange, Sanofi and Areva.
Partnership agreements provide the appropriate framework and guidelines for mentoring, internships and Pro bono initiatives.
> MENTORING
Each HEAD student is followed by a mentor.
At the beginning of the school year, each student is allocated a mentor from HEAD's network of partners (law firms and companies), in accordance to their academic background and professional projects.
Mentors are senior legal practitioners who volunteer to closely follow HEAD students. Their role is to support HEAD's innovative legal education based on its proven three dimensional approach including human, academic and professional aspects.
Thanks to the regular meetings with their mentor, HEAD students become familiar with legal career opportunities and their specific requirements. Month after month, they make the most of the unique value of HEAD's pragmatic teaching.
> INTERNSHIPS
Internships are the core of the HEAD teaching program. They pave the way to the student's entry into the job market.
The Career Service works with students and alumni to help them find positions among HEAD partners in particular. Services include individual career counseling, résumé and cover letter advice, job search workshops, career plans networking events and resources for identifying prospective employers.
HEAD students are required to complete 6 months of legal work (internship, job, V.I.E...) within two years following the end of the program.
They may select any law firm or legal office of their choice.
This six-month experience is recognized by the Paris Bar School (as "PPI" or "Final internship")
Over the past two years, HEAD students have been placed as interns within the following:
- Legal offices of GDF Paris, Saint-Gobain, EADS, Areva, CNP, Orange, Altran, Véolia, Geocoton, Sanofi, Acuitis, Mavi Company (New York)
- Law firms: Latournerie Wolfrom & associés, Mayer Brown, De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés, Gide Loyrette et Nouel, Ginestié, Skadden Arp, Meaher&Flom, Orrick...
> PRO BONO INITIATIVES
At HEAD, we believe that our Pro Bono program is key to inspiring our students, showing them new ways of thinking and strengthening their professional skills.
Our Pro Bono initiative involves a voluntary activity within charitable organizations who are members of HEAD's community network (non-profit making, institution, NGO, law firm...).
HEAD Pro Bono Program contributes to:
- Enhancing the awareness of the future lawyer of their social responsibility
- Developing hidden soft skills thanks to practical experience
- Increasing our students legal know-how in dealing with the following matters: asylum seeking, legal protection of disabled persons, reinforcing access to legal aid, international protection of human rights...
